Zahid: 160,000 Acres of Land Allocated for Industrial Parks in Afghanistan

Ahmadullah Zahid, deputy minister of industry and commerce, told that over 160,000 acres of land have been allocated to the ministry to address the shortage of land for industrialists.
In this exclusive interview, Zahid said that nearly 100,000 acres of the allocated land have already been officially handed over to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
“So far, about 100,000 acres of land have been transferred to us, and the rest is in process. The Islamic Emirate has paid special attention to industrial parks, and currently, land distribution for industrial parks is underway in eleven provinces, including Kabul,” he said.
Zahid also mentioned that efforts are ongoing to resolve banking challenges and expand economic ties with regional countries. He added that the number of industrial factories in the country has increased by 40 percent over the past three years.
According to Zahid, there are currently around 5,000 industrial factories operating across Afghanistan.
He further said: “We now have around 5,000 factories in the country, and relevant agencies such as the National Standards Authority and the Directorate of Food and Medicine are working hard to ensure our products meet international standards.”
In another part of the interview, the deputy minister discussed trade challenges with Pakistan, noting that the caretaker government is actively working to expand its economic relations with all regional countries and is also seeking alternative trade routes.
