US imposes new sanctions on Iran

The US Treasury Department imposed new sanctions on Iran on Wednesday evening (Wednesday, May 14) for the third time since the end of the fourth round of Iran-US talks.
According to a statement published on the department’s website, the US Treasury Department targeted five individuals and 10 Iranian and non-Iranian companies with sanctions related to the country, citing “their role in assisting Iran in producing essential items needed for Iran’s ballistic missile program.”
