WHO Reports Efforts for Healthcare in Afghanistan

The World Health Organization (WHO) in its monthly report of April 2025, said it delivered healthcare support across Afghanistan, reinforcing primary, secondary, and tertiary services.

During the month, the organization stated that it provided medical health services to 178,796 mostly for women patients, distributed 197 medical kits equal to 241 metric tons, and trained 423 health workers to enhance service capacity and resilience. 

The report also mentioned Afghan returnees from Pakistan and Iran, stating that health screening services were delivered to 194,898 by the organization.

Since the start of the current year 2025, the WHO recorded 64,658 cases of ARI-pneumonia, 47,827 cases of Measles, 34,973 cases of AWD with dehydration, 5,591 cases of Malaria, 1,218 cases of Covid-19, 246 cases of Dengue fever and 178 cases of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) in the country. 

In April, along with other medical services, the organization also provided Antenatal and Postnatal Care for 11,149 women, additionally, almost 7 thousand women received family planning and awareness services.
