Over Five Million Afghans Return Following Islamic Emirate’s Rise

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has announced that since the return of the Islamic Emirate to power, more than 5.097 million Afghans have returned to the country from neighboring states.
Abdul Mutalib Haqqani, the spokesperson for the ministry, added that in the past two months of the current calendar year, 268,000 Afghans have returned from Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey.
Meanwhile, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has reported that over the past two months, more than 500,000 Afghans have been deported from Iran and Pakistan.
The UNHCR added that due to the decline in international aid, Afghanistan is facing a crisis, and the return of migrants must be conducted in a dignified, voluntary, and safe manner.
