Ishaq Dar: Stable Afghanistan is in Pakistan’s Vital Interest

Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar stated during the 52nd anniversary of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad that peace and stability in Afghanistan are in Pakistan’s favor.
He expressed hope that the interim Afghan government would take steps to prevent its territory from being used against other countries, particularly Pakistan.
He said: “We believe that a peaceful, stable, united and prosperous Afghanistan is in Pakistan’s vital interest. Having made sincere efforts in Afghanistan’s interest, it is our legitimate expectation that the Afghan Interim Government would take all steps necessary to ensure that Afghanistan’s soil is not used for terrorism against any state, particularly Pakistan. Ensuring this is in Afghanistan’s own interest as it will strengthen their internal security and improve their relations with neighbours, principally Pakistan.”
Meanwhile, political analysts stress that regional stability requires joint cooperation among neighboring countries, including Pakistan.
Political affairs analyst Idris Mohammadi Zari said: “Terrorists, terrorist incidents, and their activities, as well as the fight against them, are not limited to Afghanistan’s geography. Neighboring countries, along with international institutions and organizations, must play a significant role in this regard.”
Legal expert Abdul Shakoor Dadras stated: “All countries in the region should come together to identify who the terrorists are and where they are based. Only then can a comprehensive policy be developed to combat them.”
This comes as the Islamic Emirate has consistently assured the international community that Afghan soil will not be used against any other country under any circumstances.
