UN Security Council emergency meeting on Israeli attack on Qatar

The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday (September 10, 2025) to discuss the Israeli airstrike on the Qatari capital.
The meeting was called at the request of Algeria and Pakistan and aims to assess the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and the consequences of this action for regional stability.
According to reports from news agencies such as Reuters and the Associated Press, the Israeli attack on Doha yesterday (September 9) targeted senior Hamas leaders.
The attack, carried out by guided missiles fired from outside Qatari airspace, killed five people, including the son of Khalil al-Hayyah, a Hamas leader, and several civilians were reported injured.
The emergency meeting, which is scheduled to be held at 3:00 New York time (7:00 GMT), will be attended by senior UN officials.
