Afghanistan, Kazakhstan Sign Trade Agreements Worth $133 Million

In a trade meeting attended by Afghan Minister of Industry and Trade Nuruddin Azizi and Kazakh Ambassador to Kabul Gaziz Akbasov, trade agreements worth more than $133 million were signed between the Afghan private sector and the National Food Contract Company of Kazakhstan.
Nuruddin Azizi emphasized the strengthening of trade relations between the two countries at the meeting and stated that the Ministry of Industry and Trade is trying to increase the level of bilateral trade to three billion dollars.
Based on these agreements, about 600,000 tons of food raw materials, including flour, wheat, and oilseeds such as flax and soybeans, are to be purchased from Kazakhstan.
These agreements are considered an important step towards developing economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan.
