Islamic Emirate Welcomes Regional Stance from Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan

The Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate has praised the positive position of Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan regarding Afghanistan.

Hamdullah Fitrat stated that the Islamic Emirate seeks friendly relations based on mutual respect with all countries, including its neighbors.

In response to the concerns expressed by these nations, he emphasized that no armed groups are present in Afghanistan and that Afghan soil will not be used against any other country.

Fitrat said: “This is a realistic viewpoint: considering the current security, stability, and progress in Afghanistan, establishing diplomatic relations is a top priority. Afghanistan is pursuing a policy of strengthening mutual, positive, and trust-based relations with neighboring, regional, and global countries. We strongly reject unfounded concerns and claims about Afghanistan posing a threat to others.”

Some political analysts believe that support from regional countries for Afghanistan’s stability presents a valuable opportunity for the Islamic Emirate to strengthen its political and economic ties.

According to them, a constructive response from Kabul to these concerns could help build further regional trust.

Moeen Gul Samkani, a political analyst, said: “The Doha Agreement clearly states that Afghan territory should not be used against other countries. It would have been better if it had also included a clause preventing other countries’ territories from being used against Afghanistan but that was not the case.”

Saleem Paighar, another political expert, said: “Neighboring countries should make efforts and assist Afghans in establishing lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan, and in developing the national economy.”

This comes as China, Russia, Iran, and Pakistan, during a quadrilateral meeting, reaffirmed their support for Afghanistan as an independent, stable, and drug-free country.

In a joint statement, they also emphasized the need to establish an inclusive government, uphold women’s rights, particularly the rights to education and work and acknowledged the importance of regional processes, including the Moscow Format and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, in addressing Afghan-related issues.
