Muttaqi: Positive Kabul-Islamabad Relations Serve Both Nations

The Foreign Minister of Afghanistan met with a delegation from Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami.
In the meeting, Amir Khan Muttaqi described visits between Afghan and Pakistani delegations at various levels as important, adding that positive relations between Kabul and Islamabad benefit both nations.
Mohammad Ibrahim, who led the delegation to Kabul, also stressed the need to improve relations between the two countries.
Zia Ahmad Takal, Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: “Minister Muttaqi praised Jamaat-e-Islami’s social services in Pakistan, expressed appreciation for their decades of hosting Afghan refugees, and recognized the important role of religious parties in Pakistan.”
On the other hand, Talal Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior, claimed at a press conference that Afghan soil is being used against Pakistan.
Talal Chaudhry emphasized: “We are told to hold talks with Afghanistan. Yes, we talk, but it brings no results, even though our high-level delegations have traveled to Afghanistan.”
Meanwhile, some political analysts stress that challenges between the two countries should be resolved through dialogue.
Hosni Mubarak Azizi, former Minister of Transport and Aviation, said regarding relations with Pakistan: “The current situation requires both countries, for their own interests and regional stability, to prioritize political stability and improved political relations in order to guarantee economic stability and foster stronger ties.”
Sayed Ebadullah Sadiq, a political analyst, said: “The current security-related challenges between Afghanistan and Pakistan must be resolved through political dialogue, and a constructive diplomacy should be set in motion.”
These meetings and statements come as Pakistan’s Defense Minister once again stressed that interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs had been a mistake.
Khawaja Asif further stated that Pakistan should not have supported Afghans during the war against Russia.
