33rd Agricultural and Livestock Products Exhibition Opens in Kabul

The 33rd Agricultural and Livestock Products Exhibition of Afghanistan was inaugurated this year at Badam Bagh in Kabul with the slogan: “Investment in Afghanistan’s agriculture and livestock sectors, the most reliable path toward the growth and development of the country’s economy.”
The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock criticized past governments for neglecting the agriculture and livestock sectors, saying the ministry is striving for Afghanistan’s self-sufficiency, particularly in agriculture.
Ataullah Omari, Minister of Agriculture, said: “We are making efforts in this field and assure you that, God willing, the results of past efforts are now becoming visible. We are working closely with the private sector every step of the way.”
Sadr Azam Osmani, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, also stated: “If this sector achieves self-sufficiency, we will reach 75 to 80 percent self-sufficiency in the economic sector.”
Meanwhile, the Minister of Energy and Water said the Islamic Emirate, despite extensive banking restrictions, reduced aid, and economic challenges, has achieved significant accomplishments in various sectors.
Abdul Latif Mansoor, Minister of Energy and Water, added: “Despite economic restrictions and the lack of international aid, this system has stood on its own feet by using resources such as customs revenues, mines, electricity, municipal services, and tax collection.”
Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, also said: “We have tried to shape the country’s economy through national mobilization. Currently, Afghanistan is also facing sanctions and global political and geopolitical pressures.”
At the 33rd Badam Bagh exhibition in Kabul, exhibitors from different provinces displayed their agricultural, livestock, and handicraft products in 263 stalls for four days.
