Education Minister: Modern Weaponry Essential for National Defense

The Minister of Education of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, during the opening ceremony of a student science achievements exhibition in Kabul, emphasized the need to preserve the current system.

Habibullah Agha stated that Afghanistan seriously needs advanced military technology to defend its territorial integrity.

He said: “Today, defending the country is no longer possible with simple weapons like Kalashnikovs. Defense now requires heavy artillery, bombs, and fighter jets.”

The minister also stressed the importance of Afghanistan becoming self-sufficient in military equipment production.

He explained that Afghanistan must break its dependence on foreign countries for advanced military supplies.

Habibullah Agha added: “If Russia, India, Iran, or Pakistan provide you with military equipment, it’s likely they won’t give you something that could be used against them. Therefore, we must take matters into our own hands.”

Referring to recent clashes with Pakistan, he stated that Pakistan lacks the capability for ground warfare against Afghanistan but does possess advanced airpower.

The senior Islamic Emirate official further said: “We saw the Punjabis fleeing during ground battles, but once they launched rockets, we had no means of defense. Such capabilities can only be achieved through determination and resolve.”

The supply of advanced military equipment and control over national airspace are issues that have been repeatedly emphasized by senior officials of the Islamic Emirate.
