Taliban attacks on Maimana city repulsed

Security sources in Faryab report that Taliban fighters repelled an attack on the provincial capital of this province.

Faryab police spokesman Karim Yuresh said last night’s attack by Taliban fighters on the town of Maimana had been repulsed by security and defense forces.

Mr. Yuresh added that as a result of the Taliban attack, 4 key commanders with 9 fighters of this group were killed and 12 others were wounded, and also one government force was killed and another was wounded in this clash.
