The Taliban launched large-scale attacks on the city of Kandahar

Kandahar police report a widespread Taliban attack on security areas in Kandahar.

The Kandahar Police Command said in a statement that Taliban fighters had launched large-scale attacks on the third, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and fifteenth Police Stations of Kandahar.

Clashes between security forces and Taliban fighters are ongoing in the area, and security forces are trying to repel the Taliban, the statement added.

Kandahar police have assured the citizens of this province that they will stand against the enemy with all their might.

The Taliban have recently launched attacks on provincial capitals, which have so far taken control of nine provincial capitals.
