Ahmad Massoud: We do not want a war

Ahmad Massoud, the son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, has said that the Taliban should understand that the only way to get Panjshir is to negotiate.
“We want the Taliban to understand that the only solution is negotiation,” Ahmad Massoud told Reuters in an interview yesterday. “We do not want a war,” he added.
He also said that if the Taliban attacked Panjshir, they would face strong resistance.
Mr. Massoud has emphasized that he wants a comprehensive government that includes all spectrums and ethnicities.
However, after negotiations to hand over Panjshir province failed, the Taliban ordered their forces to attack the province.
Ahmad Massoud, son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, and Amrullah Saleh, first Vice President in Ashraf Ghani’s government in Panjshir province, now lead the resistance against the Taliban.
