Taliban: We are not ready to extend the deadline for the withdrawal of foreign troops on August 31

Hours after US President Biden announced that the United States could extend the withdrawal of US troops on August 31, Taliban sources said the group did not agree to the extension.

Two Taliban sources told Reuters that no country had approached the group to extend the deadline.

Biden, meanwhile, said Sunday that the deadline for US troops to leave Afghanistan could be extended.

“Our hope is that we will not have to renew, but I think there will be debates about how far we are in the process,” he said.

Meanwhile, the US embassy recently told all citizens in Afghanistan not to come to Kabul airport without approved documents to leave Afghanistan.
