Biden: China will try to reach an agreement with the Taliban

China will work to reach an agreement with the Taliban, the president of US was quoted as saying by Reuters.

US President Joe Biden told reporters that China has a serious problem with the Taliban and that it will try to reach some kind of agreement with the Taliban.

He added that he was confident that Russia, Pakistan and Iran would also try to deal with the Taliban.

However, following the announcement of the formation of the Taliban government, several senior positions were awarded to individuals who had served in the 20-year war against the US-led coalition.

Following the Taliban move, State Department Spokesman Net Price said the country was concerned about the affiliation and background of some of the Taliban’s nominees for key posts.
