The United States has expressed concern about the absence of women in the new Taliban government

US State Department spokesman Ned Price said the United States was concerned about the absence of women in the new Taliban government.
A State Department spokesman also expressed concern about the affiliation and background of some individuals who have been key positions in the new Taliban government.
“We also reiterate our clear expectations that the Taliban will ensure that Afghan territory is not used to threaten any other country and that it guarantees humanitarian access to support the Afghan people,” he said.
The Taliban announced the formation of a new government on Tuesday.
But the so-called interim Taliban government has not yet been recognized by any country.
