According to the new order of the Central Bank, all remittances should be paid in Afghan currency

The Central Bank of Afghanistan has announced that due to the devaluation of the Afghani against the dollar, all remittances must be paid in Afghani currency.

Sources at the Central Bank of Afghanistan were quoted as saying by Reuters that the central bank had ordered all other banks to pay all remittances in Afghani currency only.

According to sources, the decision is the latest effort by the central bank to preserve the US dollar, which is now scarce in Afghan markets.

A few days after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, the United States announced that the Taliban had limited access to the central bank’s $ 10 billion reserves.
