The United Nations has raised $ 1.2 billion for Afghanistan at the Geneva summit

The United Nations has raised more than $ 1.2 billion at the Geneva Summit to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

UN Under-Secretary-General Martin Griffiths tweeted that $ 1.2 billion would be provided by countries and aid organizations to Afghanistan.

Among these countries, Japan has promised the most aid, which is $ 200 million.

The United States has also announced $ 64 million for Afghanistan.

Germany has also announced that it has added € 100 million to aid to Afghanistan and neighboring countries, and is voting to add another € 500 million.

Denmark has also said it will increase $ 38 million in aid to Afghanistan.

Norway has also provided $ 11.5 million in aid to Afghanistan.

Earlier, the United Nations said more than half of Afghanistan’s population needed humanitarian aid.

It said more than $ 600 million was needed to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
