Red Cross Committee: The number of wounded in the recent wars in Afghanistan has increased by 80%

The Red Cross says the number of casualties from the recent war in Afghanistan has risen by 80 percent since last year.

The committee said in a statement that more than 41,000 war wounded had been treated at ICRC-assisted medical centers in Afghanistan from June to August.

The committee added that the number of injured increased by 80% compared to the same period last year.

Thousands of soldiers and civilians have been killed or wounded in recent months as a result of increased Taliban attacks on provincial capitals and the group’s takeover of all parts of Afghanistan except Panjshir.
