Central Bank: Afghan currency should be used in all transactions in Afghanistan

The Central Bank of Afghanistan has asked all citizens and public and private departments to use Afghan currency in their business transactions.
The Central Bank said in a statement that in accordance with Article 33 of the Afghan Law, the currency of Afghanistan is the Afghani.
The statement called on the Afghan public and government and private sectors to use the Afghan currency in contracts and other monetary transactions and economic transactions.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Afghanistan recently ordered all public and private banks to pay all their remittances using Afghan currency in order to preserve the US dollar, which has been scarce in Afghan markets since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.
