Saudi Foreign Minister: The return and resurgence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan is a concern

The return and resurgence of al-Qaeda, ISIS and the Taliban terrorist groups in Afghanistan is a real concern,
India Today quoted by Saudi Foreign Minister as saying.
“Transnational terrorism is a concern. At present, the Taliban have pledged that Afghan territory will not be used to revive terrorism,” Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud said in an exclusive interview with India Today.
The Saudi foreign minister also said that the country had nothing to do with the new Taliban government in Afghanistan and that his country would “wait” to see how the new Taliban government would be recognized.
However, Saudi Arabia was the only country to recognize the first Taliban government in the 1990s.
“We want to learn and ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan. I agreed on this with India in a meeting with Dr. Jaishankar,” he added.
