United Nations: 450 children have been killed in Afghanistan in the past six months

The United Nations says 450 children have been killed in Afghanistan in the past six months alone.

Martin Griffiths, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, said of the results of his visit to Afghanistan that 450 children had been killed and 1,200 injured in Afghanistan in the past six months.

Griffiths also said that foreign and domestic aid workers were also attacked during this period.

He also said that 10 members of a family, including seven children, were killed in the recent US attack in Kabul, adding that the United Nations was always talking to the United States about the humanitarian effects of its actions.
