Wahid Majrooh was fired as head of the Ministry of Public Health

Dr. Wahid Majrooh, who was the head of the Ministry of Public Health since the previous government, was ousted by the Taliban today and replaced by Dr. Qalandar Ebad.

Mr. Majrooh wrote on his Facebook page today: “Today, my term as the head of the Ministry of Public Health officially ended and I said goodbye to my colleagues with a world of good memories.”

He added: “Although my dreams for improving my country’s health system remained unfinished, but I believe that my country’s health system has so much human resources that if the opportunity arises, the health sector will move towards a better future.”

Meanwhile, the head of the World Health Organization arrived in Kabul yesterday to talk to the Taliban and is said to have talked to the Taliban about supporting the health sector.
