Turkey and the United States stressed the need for continued cooperation in Afghanistan

The US and Turkish foreign ministers met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly to discuss the situation in Afghanistan and its continued assistance to the country.
During the meeting, Cavusoglu and Anthony Blinken called for continued cooperation on Afghanistan.
“We are grateful to Turkey for its very strong partnership in Afghanistan and for the work we continue to do to help each other,” Blinken said after the meeting.
According to him, the meeting focused not only on Afghanistan but also on regional issues such as Syria and the Caucasus.
“We will definitely continue to work together in Afghanistan,” Cavusoglu said, thanking the US Secretary of State. “We will continue this cooperation and do everything we can to strengthen bilateral relations.”
