According to a statement from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), Secretary-General of the United Nations Secretary-General Dabira Lainz today met with former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and stressed the need for the United Nations to continue to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

He insisted that an inclusive government that could work with the region and the wider world could better improve development.
