The opening of girls’ schools is one of the conditions for the international community to recognize the Taliban

The UN Under-Secretary-General has said that the international community will not even consider recognizing the Taliban until the process of educating girls in Afghanistan begins.

Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, made the remarks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

He added that the world must ensure that Afghan girls are educated and that the Taliban adhere to human values.

Boys ‘schooling has begun in Afghanistan, but it is not yet clear when girls’ schooling will begin.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Education recently announced the start of boys ‘schooling, but the announcement did not mention the start of girls’ schooling.
