Pakistani military officials say five people have been killed in a Pakistani Taliban attack on an army convoy.

Pakistani military officials say five Pakistani soldiers have been killed in clashes with terrorist elements in North Waziristan.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack on the Pakistani army convoy comes as Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan told a Turkish media outlet yesterday that talks between the Pakistani government and the Pakistani Taliban had begun and were continuing through the mediation of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

But a spokesman for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) denied Imran Khan’s remarks and instructed the group’s fighters to continue their attacks.
