India has begun the process of returning Afghans who have gone to the country for treatment.

The Afghan embassy in New Delhi has announced that the process of returning hundreds of Afghans who had come to India for treatment and were stranded due to recent developments in the country has begun by India.

According to a statement issued by the embassy released today, the process of transferring the Afghans has begun after the establishment of a mechanism in close coordination between the two countries.

The Afghan embassy in India said the first group of 106 people had been airlifted to Tehran, adding that they were looking for other ways to transport the remaining citizens to Afghanistan.

However, after the recent developments in Afghanistan, India stopped all its flights to Afghanistan and these flights have not been resumed yet.
