Siddiqui: The Taliban fought the United States for 20 years and now they are asking for help

The former government deputy interior minister and spokesman says the Taliban fought the United States for 20 years and are now seeking help.
Siddiq Sadiqi, a former deputy interior minister in the former government, tweeted that the Taliban had fought the United States for 20 years in the name of jihad, destroyed the country and was now asking for help.
He added that the Taliban now want to be recognized by the United States and continue to help the country.
Siddiqui added that despite the occupation of the country by the Taliban, humanitarian aid should continue to Afghanistan.
Over the past two days, a delegation from the Taliban Foreign Ministry met with a delegation from the US State Department in Qatar.
The talks are said to have focused on the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan and the reopening of the US embassy in Afghanistan.
