A delegation from the Taliban government left for Russia to attend the Moscow summit

A delegation from the Taliban government led by the Deputy Prime Minister went to Russia to attend a Moscow meeting on Afghanistan.

Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Taliban’s second deputy prime minister, tweeted that a government delegation had traveled to Russia to attend a Moscow summit on Afghanistan.

The delegation is said to include Abdul Salam Hanafi, the second deputy prime minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Mottaqi, the acting foreign minister, Haji Nooruddin Azizi, the trade minister, Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, the economy minister, and Mawlawi Abdul Rashid, the mayor of Kabul.

A Russian-hosted meeting on Afghanistan is scheduled for tomorrow in Moscow to discuss the establishment of a comprehensive government, Russia’s commitment to humanitarian aid to the Afghan people, and Russia’s concerns about the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan.

However, the US State Department recently announced that it could not attend the meeting, but the statement did not state the reason for its absence.
