Russia is not yet ready to recognize the Taliban government

Russia’s ambassador to Kabul has said that it is too early to recognize the Taliban government.

Russia’s ambassador to Kabul, Dmitry Zhirinov, said today that it was too early to talk about recognizing the Taliban, Sputnik reported.

Moscow is set to begin talks on Afghanistan today, with representatives from ten countries and a Taliban delegation.

According to reports, the meeting will focus on forming a comprehensive government and preventing a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, as well as the political and military situation in the country.

However, the Russian Foreign Ministry said yesterday that it was not yet ready to recognize the Taliban government in Afghanistan, but was ready to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people, along with China and Pakistan.
