Dozens of ISIS affiliates surrendered to the Taliban in Nangarhar

Local Taliban officials in Nangarhar say several ISIS members have surrendered to the group.
A Taliban official said 50 people affiliated with the ISIS terrorist group had surrendered to government forces in Nangarhar.
The 50 ISIS operatives are said to have surrendered to Taliban forces through the mediation of local elders and tribal leaders.
Recently, however, ISIS has claimed responsibility for several attacks on Shiite mosques in Afghanistan, and the group has carried out several attacks against Taliban militants, most of whom have been Taliban and civilians.
The Taliban, which is now responsible for providing security in the country, but have said that ISIL is not a threat to Afghanistan and that they are able to fight the group.
