Bashar al-Assad: After the US defeat in Afghanistan and Iraq, new wars will break out
The Syrian president says that with the defeat of the United States in Afghanistan and Iraq, new wars will begin.
According to Sputnik, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has said that the US defeat in Afghanistan and Iraq will lead to new wars and new defeats.
“We have to assume that after the defeat of the United States in Afghanistan and Iraq,” he said in a speech at the officers’ graduation ceremony. “There will be new wars and defeats.”
He described traditional warfare as more dangerous than political warfare, saying his country had lost tens of thousands killed and wounded since 2011.
Meanwhile, many high-ranking officials around the world have called the US unplanned withdrawal from Afghanistan a defeat for the US government in that country.
