Saleh: Khalilzad took care of the republic like a sacrificial goat until it was slaughtered

Former First Vice President of Afghanistan says that Khalilzad cared for the republic like a sacrificial goat until slaughter.
“Khalilzad was a great deceiver, he strategically tried to guard the republic like a scapegoat until the moment of slaughter,” Amrullah Salih, the former First Vice President, tweeted.
“Instead of accepting responsibility for the tragedy, Khalilzad is still trying to take advantage of the plight of the Afghans by sprinkling salt on the wounds of the people and blaming them,” he added.
Emphasizing that Khalilzad could not remove the stench of his brokenness by blaming others, Saleh asked: “Why did the word Quetta Shura suddenly disappear? “Where did the slogan or four clauses of the Doha Agreement come from?”
Meanwhile, Zalmai Khalilzad, the former US envoy to Afghanistan for peace, said yesterday at a conference in Washington that Ghani’s stubbornness to stay in power and the unwillingness of the Afghan military to fight the Taliban was the reason for the collapse of the Afghan government. “In Afghanistan, they did not believe, the soldiers did not believe in their ideals, but the Taliban believed in their ideals.”
