Imam of a mosque in the center of Nangarhar province was assassinated

Sources in Nangarhar say that unknown individuals assassinated the imam of the Grand Mosque in the town of Jalalabad, the capital of the province.

According to these sources, this mosque imam was killed this morning by unknown gunmen inside the mosque.

Also eyewitnesses named the Imam of the mosque as Mawlawi Abdul Wahed, was and said that he was attacked and killed inside the mosque when he wanted to say the call to prayer.

The perpetrators are said to have fled the area.

However, no one or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
