The Taliban cabinet ordered the distribution of passports with a paper ID card due to the increase in passport applications.
The General Directorate of the Taliban Government Affairs Department, in its decision to hold a meeting held yesterday under the chairmanship of Mullah Hassan Akhand, ordered the passport office to distribute passports with paper IDs.
A statement from the Taliban’s Office said, “The meeting focused on the approval of the new civil servants’ and NTA’s payroll arrangements, full attention to the promotion of the national currency, the consolidation and protection of government reserves in the provinces and ports.” “Acceleration of the passport distribution process, completion and formation of the National Statistics and Information Office, and other issues, necessary discussions and decisions were taken.”
“Due to the increase in public demand and the creation of more facilities, the passport department has been tasked with distributing passports to those paper IDs whose basis is fixed and reliable,”statement added.
