The Qatari foreign minister called on the Taliban to be committed to guaranteeing the rights of the Afghan people

The Qatari foreign minister called on the Taliban to act as the government of Afghanistan in guaranteeing the rights of the Afghan people, especially women and girls.

Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani made the remarks at a joint news conference with Slovenian Foreign Minister Anzi Logar.

He said his country called for an international consensus on action in Afghanistan.

He also called on countries around the world to participate in humanitarian efforts for Afghanistan, adding that instead of isolating Afghans, we should see serious steps on the part of Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism.
