Teachers in Kandahar went on strike

Teachers in Kandahar have gone on strike for not receiving their salaries
The teachers closed the gates of the schools to the students in the province, emphasizing that they had not received their salaries for four months.
They said the Taliban government’s education department had promised to pay them by Thursday, but their salaries had not yet been paid.
These teachers insist that they will stop working if their salaries are not paid.
Earlier, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced that it would pay teachers’ salaries.
UNICEF had said it would pay them directly without the involvement of the Taliban.
