The Pakistani Foreign Minister stressed the need to prevent a new crisis of refugees from Afghanistan

Pakistan’s foreign minister says all countries want to prevent a new refugee crisis in Afghanistan.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said today at the start of a troika meeting in Islamabad that no one wants Afghanistan to return to civil war and that all countries want to prevent a new refugee crisis in Afghanistan.

“No one wants economic collapse that will destabilize,” he said. “Everyone wants to fight terrorist elements inside Afghanistan effectively.”

Qureshi added that the troika’s interaction with the new Afghan government will help strengthen peace and stability, promote sustainable economic development and limit the space for terrorist groups operating from inside Afghanistan.

Extended Troika Meeting with Representatives of Pakistan, China, Russia and the United States in Islamabad; The Pakistani capital began today with the aim of finding a solution and putting pressure on the Taliban to fulfill the group’s commitments.
