The first shipment of Russian humanitarian aid arrived in Kabul

Russia’s Defense Ministry announced the arrival of its first shipment of humanitarian aid to Kabul.

According to Sputnik, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that more than 36 tons of Russian humanitarian aid were transported to Afghanistan using IL-76 aircraft.

“IL-76 aircraft of the Russian Air Force have delivered more than 36 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan,” the ministry said in a statement.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, while acknowledging Russia for its first 36-ton shipment of aid to Afghanistan, said: “This aid includes flour, oil and camp. “On behalf of the Afghan people, we thank Russia and urge the world to take similar action.”

Emphasizing that a second shipment of Russian humanitarian aid will be delivered to Afghanistan in the coming days, Mujahid added: “Russia is providing 108 tons of food aid to Afghanistan and this aid will be provided in three stages.”
