The US Deputy of the Treasury spoke to Qatari officials about cooperation with Afghanistan

The US Treasury Department announced that the Deputy Secretary of Treasury met with senior Qatari leaders to discuss mutual mutual interest in providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.

The US Treasury Department said in a statement on Friday that US Deputy Treasury Secretary Adimo and senior Qatari leaders discussed this week their common interests in meeting the humanitarian needs of the Afghan people.

The ministry statement also said that Adimo met with Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the prime minister, and other senior Doha government leaders to discuss equitable growth, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the challenges and opportunities of virtual assets.

The Treasury Department said the United States and Qatar reiterated their intention to work together to combat illicit funding.
