More than 80% of factories in Paktia province were closed

Officials from the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Paktia province say 80 percent of the province’s factories have been closed, leaving about 2,000 unemployed.

In an interview with Salam Watandar, Fazluddin Jalalozi, head of the Paktia Chamber of Commerce and Industries, said that the factories had been closed or were closing due to lack of raw materials.

However, the owners of these factories, emphasizing that the recent developments in the country have had a negative impact on their work and burden, have said that the lack of raw materials and the lack of imports into the country has led to the closure of these factories.

However, as a result of recent developments in the country and the Taliban domination, billions of dollars of Afghan capital have been frozen in world banks, which has reduced imports from foreign countries to Afghanistan.
