Taliban: The West is trying to fuel the economic crisis in Afghanistan

Soheil Shahin, a spokesman for the Taliban’s political bureau in Qatar, said that in addition to all the problems facing Afghanistan, the West was trying to fuel the economic crisis in Afghanistan.
“There are problems, but they are not enough to threaten the Taliban’s survival,” Shaheen said, referring to the Taliban’s problems in governing Afghanistan.
“In the last 20 years, we have started the resistance from the US and 54 other countries from scratch and finally won, but now we are facing sabotage by the West, especially the US, and we believe they are deliberately fueling the economic crisis in Afghanistan,” he added.
“Despite the empty treasury, the freezing of the nation’s money by the West and the betrayal of the previous government officials, we have paid the salaries of the employees of some ministries from our own sources, such as customs and tax revenues,” Shahin said.
“We met with ambassadors from 15 European countries, and they collectively said we would work with you,” Shaheen said, referring to some countries’ cooperation with the Taliban.
However, the group’s government has not yet been recognized in Afghanistan.
