The United Nations says $ 600 million has been raised to help people in need in Afghanistan.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a statement yesterday that a large amount of aid had been provided by the United States, the European Commission, Japan and Germany, with Germany leading the way with $ 76 million.
Jens Lerke; A spokesman for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Geneva said that international aid had achieved the goal set by the United Nations, adding that not all aid had been used due to the financial and banking crisis in Afghanistan.
According to him, the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan is not over yet.
