UNICEF: $ 2 billion needed to provide vital services to Afghan children

The United Nations Children’s Fund says $ 2 billion is needed to provide vital services to children and their families in Afghanistan.
UNICEF says the amount will meet the immediate needs of more than 24 million people, half of whom are children.
Ellis Akunga; “Winter has begun and without extra money, UNICEF and its partners will not be able to help children and families in need. Millions of Afghan children are at risk of famine and death,” said UNICEF Representative in Afghanistan.
“We must remember our common sense of humanity and do everything we can to keep children alive, provide them with proper nutrition, safety and education,” he added.
On the other hand, UNICEF says that the outbreak of deadly diseases such as measles, which according to the fund has 60,000 cases in Afghanistan, threatens Afghan children.
UNICEF says the agency will provide $ 2 billion in vital services to Afghan children and ensure they continue to provide basic services such as health and education.
