Russia insisted on releasing all assets of the Afghanistan Reconstruction Fund

A spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed the need to free up all the assets of the Afghanistan Reconstruction Fund and said that the country needed a budget to restore a normal life.
Russia’s foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a news conference today that her country wanted full access to Afghanistan’s funds from the World Bank-run Reconstruction Fund and that the release of part of the money was insufficient, Sputnik reported.
“We support the World Bank’s decision to provide $ 280 million to the World Food Program and UNICEF from the Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund,” he said. “However, we consider these measures to be insufficient and demand the release of the frozen capital of this fund, which is more than one billion dollars.”
According to him, Afghanistan needs a budget to create a normal economic life, rehabilitate normal infrastructure and use social facilities.
