The Taliban called for good relations with OIC member states
A spokesman for the Taliban government called on OIC member states to recognize the group at its next meeting in Islamabad.
Zabihullah Mujahid, deputy minister of information and culture and Taliban spokesman, made the remarks in an interview with Arab News.
“We are their brother and they should support us and recognize the Afghan government,” he said in an interview welcoming a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Moore, Afghanistan. “We need to identify, support and cooperate with them.”
Meanwhile, the United Nations recently passed a resolution delaying the process of recognizing the Taliban government in Afghanistan and not handing over Afghanistan’s seat to the group.
