Women in Balkh province condemned the Taliban’s crackdown on them

The women of Balkh province condemned in a resolution the restrictions and strictness imposed on women by the Taliban in this province.
The women’s movement in Balkh province wrote in the resolution: “With the participants and organizers of the women’s protests and gatherings, we strongly condemn the harsh conditions imposed by the Taliban on female students and working women in the community.”
“Thousands of women have lost their jobs today, which has led to poverty and hunger in families,” they wrote, stressing that human rights abuses against the Afghan people, especially women, were unacceptable and should be stopped immediately. “And we want the women of the country to have the right to work and study, and their presence to be recognized in all areas.”
The women also called on the Taliban to open girls’ schools and allow women to work in their jobs, and called on the international community to put political and diplomatic pressure on the Taliban regime to enforce women’s citizenship rights and political, educational and social participation. .
On the other hand, they called for the creation of an inclusive, non-ideological and worthy government with the wide and meaningful participation of the women of the country, and said that women make up half of the body politic.
At the end of the resolution, they wrote that the killings of military women in Afghanistan should be stopped as soon as possible.
They also called on the United Nations not to recognize the Taliban government.
However, after the Taliban took control, women working in government offices were not allowed to participate in their work, and girls’ schools in most provinces of Afghanistan were closed to Girl students from grade 7 onwards.
