Taliban: The National Assembly will take office soon

A Taliban government spokesman says the Afghan National Assembly will soon take office.

Zabihullah Mujahid, deputy minister of information and culture and spokesman for the Taliban government, told reporters without elaborating on how the Afghan National Council would function, saying the council would begin its work soon.

Recent developments and the fall of the former Afghan regime have forced most members of the Afghan National Council to leave the country, and the council has ceased to exist.
